A few years back, it was a hustle to get a popular Dj that is reasonably priced to play at a wedding function of a family friend. Second issue was to find the perfect Dj that understand the acceptable playlist and the list goes on. This week, something interesting caught my attention, I was searching for a Wedding Dj for a friend and google listed a site for wedding dj’s, I was astonished but not for so long. The concept was the craft of cape town’s club banger Dj Shaun Westwood, who got married earlier this year, he celebrated the launch of his new website www.the-weddingdjs.co.za which is aimed at the Mother City’s ever popular wedding market.
Better known as Cape Town’s DJ West, he is no stranger at weekly spinning the decks and keeping dance floors packed in Cape Town’s high-end clubs. “Having seen a gap in the market for a quality wedding DJ supplier, since there simply aren’t many good options available, I found a way to link my passion and make a living. The Wedding DJ’s is made up of a team of musicians and DJ’s that have developed an unparalleled reputation for excellence in weddings and private function entertainment.”
Shaun grew up in Durban and started DJ’ing at school and opened his first night club when he was 23 years old which quickly grew into a group of clubs, bars and restaurants known as The Opium Group in Cape Town. Although he is no longer involved with running clubs and bars, he is still obsessed with music and entertainment. “DJ’ing in front of a crowd is where I am most comfortable”.
The Wedding DJ’s is certainly a valuable add-on to South Africa’s top wedding supplier list and something am sure a lot of people planning their wedding would find resourceful to wedding budget planning. There are several packages on the website, from The Tigers package, The Party Starters and The Law as the top package .
