Keeping healthy goals in remembrance this winter.

Rather than concentrating on dropping a certain Kilogram amount of weight, it is wise and healthier to focus on monitoring the decrease of your body fat percentage proportional to your lean muscle mass including keeping track of your hydration level and not compromising your bone density.

The Spanish proverb tells us that, “A man too busy to take care of his health is like a mechanic too busy to take care of his tool.” Seventy percent of the proper function of our body and improvement of the quality of our health is in our hands. The performance of our children at school relies on our choices of what we model to them as food for brain power.

In his prediction, Thomas Edison says that, “The doctors of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” What does this tell us as a society? Well my understanding is that healthy eating is the most cost effective way of avoiding being a prospective candidate for lifestyle diseases as the body will have necessary nutrients to fight infections.

If we do not focus on strengthening our immune system then the opposite will result because a weak compromised immune system is one susceptible to primary and secondary illness. Winter is a season that challenges a lot of people and the strength of their immune system. Children tend to be the primary indicators of season changes. As a society let us make healthy eating a lifestyle and a classical fashion trend for all age group.

Tip 1: Drink sufficient water to help avoid constipation, headaches and fatigues.

Tip 2: Avoid drinking a lot of coffee this winter rather drink thermojectic beverages and teas instead.

Tip 3: Healthy fats are very necessary in our diet so add monounsaturated fats (e.g.plant, peanut & olive oil; pumpkin seeds, avocados and nuts) and polyunsaturated fats (e.g. Omega-3 & Omega-6) to your diet.

Avoid saturated and Trans fats especially this season because activity levels of most individual declines daily consumption rate turns to be more than what the body can use up.
