Funky band Kool & the Gang will be joined by the tribute group Earth Wind & Fire for a show in South Africa this November. The dates for their performances are November 28, 2024, at the SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria and November 30, 2024, at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town.
The shows’ tickets go on sale on March 8 at 09:00 through Ticketmaster.co.za. The Discovery Bank pre-sale starts at 09:00 and finishes at 08:59 on March 6 and 8.
Their classics, “Celebrate,” “Get Down On It,” “Fresh,” and many other songs are what made Kool & the Gang famous. The trio has went on to win numerous music accolades, sell millions of CDs, and have even been honoured at the Grammy Awards through their career. In 2023, the group released their most recent album, People Just Wanna Have Fun.
Touring alongside the legendary group will be The Earth Wind & Fire Experience, led by guitarist Al McKay from the original band. All of their popular funk band songs, such as September, Let’s Groove, Boogie Wonderland, Fantasy, You Want My Love, and more, are expected to be performed by the tribute band.
These concerts are presented by big Concerts, with support from 947 and collaboration with 702, KFM 94.5, and CapeTalk.
