Loving Healthy, Loving Myself & Loving You

February is the month of love and what better way to express self love than by adapting a healthy lifestyle so that you can be in a good standing and fit to take care of your loved ones. Love is definitely in the air and I would like to take this opportunity to express my love and gratitude to all our readers and followers.

It is always a pleasure for me to write in courageous form with the purpose of reaching out to all who are in need of basic information and motivation to live a healthy lifestyle. My desire is that after you read these articles you feel like you have just had a conversation with a friend that care for you.

Unfortunately when it come to healthy living a lot of people think like Mark Twain who once quotes that “The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you would rather not” but I totally disagree. We have conditioned our taste bud to be receptive to excessive salt, sugar and greasy food intake as what satisfies our hunger and that in my opinion is such a tragedy. I would like us to practice living according to the following quote by Dr. Edward Group III, which states “By cleansing your body on a regular basis and eliminating as many toxins as possible from your environment, your body can begin to heal itself, prevent disease, and become stronger and more resilient than you ever dreamed possible!”.

I recommend that we refresh our bodies by drinking enough water daily and start reducing our intake of salt, sugar and saturated fats because their effects to our bodies and overall health is regrettable, expensive and eventually fatal. The consequence of excessive salt intake includes high blood pressure, stroke, cardio-vascular diseases, cancer, kidney failure, osteoporosis etc. while excess sugar causes early aging, accumulation of adipose tissue, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and declining of concentration level.

Too much fat in our diet on the other hand leads to being overweight which also results in lifestyle illness such as atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, heart diseases and the list goes on. I can only imagine how dissatisfying it is for Statistic South Africa and World Health Organization (WHO) in adding up all the cases of lifestyle illness and their fatalities thereof because at the end of the day it’s not just numbers but a reflection of real life losses to families and communities. Ladies and gentlemen the organs in our bodies are Interdependent of each other therefore it is important to take good care of all of them for the benefit of our own wellbeing. Let us be responsible, accountable and conscience of what we do to our bodies and eliminate the element of unpleasant surprises by seventy percent.
