Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have finally completed the filming of Bad Boys 4. The 55-year-old actor posted to Instagram that he and 58-year-old Martin Lawrence had just wrapped up the filming for the fourth movie of the bad boys franchise. He said it was “nothing but magic” to be reunited with his friend.
“WRAPPED! Nothin’ but Magic every time I’m with my guy. See y’all June 7 for @BADBOYS 4!! (sic)”, read Smith’s post.
Smith and Lawrence are returning with their roles as detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, while Vanessa Hudgens, Paola Nunez, and Alexander Ludwig are also returning back after their appearance in the 2020 film “Bad Boys for Life” which marked the third film of the series.
In April, Smith admitted that he and Lawrence were “excited” about “Bad Boys 4”. Smith made a virtual appearance at CinemaCon and said, “We’re hyped, we’re excited”. He further apologised about the two of them not being together in Las Vegas. Noting that they were four weeks into production of the new movie, Lawrence interrupted right away and said, “we’re not sorry we couldn’t be there”.
The plot of “Bad Boys 4” is being kept under wraps, although Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are the ones directing it once more from a Chris Bremner script.
Lawrence has always believed that this production had a profoundly positive effect on his career since the release of the first movie in 1995.
“It was big. For us to come together and prove that we can deliver, and we can pull people into the box office – that two black stars, two sitcom stars, could make the money at the box office (was huge)”, he said.
