Nadia Nakai set to host ‘Love & Hip Hop SA’ reunion

“Love and Hip Hop South Africa” was first introduced to the Mzansi audience in February, and the reunion is already scheduled to air. The US version of “Love and Hip Hop,” which has previously taken place in Miami, Atlanta, Hollywood, and New York, has now ventured beyond its national lines.

Some of the biggest hip hop artists in the nation are represented in the cast, including Da L E S, Yanga Chief, Money Badoo, Gigi Lamayne, J Molley, DJ Speedsta, Fifi Cooper, and Shane Eagle with Nicole “Nikki” Swartz as his leading lady. MTV Africa will televise the first instalment of the “Love and Hip Hop” reunion on May 20. Nadia Nakai, a reality television personality and award-winning rapper, is set to host the program. Every reality show reunion needs a capable host, preferably a fan who is knowledgeable about the program. As a hip hop musician herself, Bragga is familiar with all of the cast members and has collaborated with some of them. Nakai posted a picture of herself looking glamorous in black on the host’s chair on Instagram to share the news with her 3.3 million followers. The announcement read:

“ANNOUNCEMENT!! Bragga is a Beast, Pioneer, Icon AND Host of Love and Hip Hop SOUTH AFRICA- THE REUNION. PART 1 & 2.”

The first season served as a cultural showcase for Mzansi hip hop, as well as for the diverse upbringings and personal histories of the well-known performers. The cast also paid respect to the late hip-hop artist Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, who sadly lost his life in a shooting in Durban the same month the show aired. The “Love and Hip Hop SA” cast is devastated by AKA’s passing because he was close to many of them. On May 20, at 6 p.m., “Love and Hip Hop SA: The Reunion” part one will air on MTV (DStv Channel 130).
