R&B superstar H.E.R set to perform in SA this December

The multi-award-winning R&B superstar H.E.R, was announced as the headlining act for the upcoming “Hey Neighbour” lifestyle festival scheduled for December, 2023. The innovative Glen21 Entertainment crew revealed their newest endeavor, the “Hey Neighbour Festival”last week.

The team which describes itself as “South Africa’s leading event maestros,” have organised tours and events for performers such Tamia, Boyz II Men, Scorpion Kings, and Inkabi Zezwe (Biz Zulu and Sjava). “Hey Neighbour”, in the words of Glen21 Entertainment, is not simply another festival.

“It’s a global gathering, a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and most importantly, community. It’s where the unfamiliar face in the crowd becomes the friend you dance with. It’s where diversity isn’t just welcomed, it’s celebrated. It’s where music, the universal connector, weaves a tapestry of shared experiences, creating memories that last a lifetime.”

The Hey Neighbour Festival’s first musical performer to be revealed was R&B sensation H.E.R. The American R&B singer who was born Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson in 1997, has won a number of accolades, including five Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and two Children’s and Family Emmy Awards. She has also been nominated for four Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and a Golden Globe Award.

The festival will be held from December 8 to December 10 at the Legends Adventure Farm in Pretoria. According to organizers, attendees can anticipate  “awe-inspiring stages, complete with dazzling lights, mesmerising visuals, and sound that will make your heart skip a beat.”

The event will offer food, drinks, merchandise, entertainment activities, activation stations, and lodging alternatives. Information regarding these festival attractions will be released in due time. Phase 1 tickets for the Hey Neighbour Festival go on sale on Friday, May 19, and are only available to those who are at least 18 years old.
