Beyoncé kicks off Renaissance World Tour

Beyoncé’s first solo tour in seven years kicked off on Wednesday, May 10 in Stockholm, Sweden. In the days leading up to the concert, she remained silent about the specifics, leaving fans scouring social media for any information from the singer’s three-hour performance.

According to Variety, Beyoncé opened her performance with the track “Dangerously In Love” along with other songs from her most recent album Renaissance. Beyoncé reportedly played crowd favorites from previous albums including “Diva,” “Partition,” “Crazy In Love” and “Love On Top.”

At one point during her performance, Beyoncé took to the stage to perform the chart-topping hit “Savage Remix,” a song she usually sang alongside rapper Megan Thee Stallion, according to Variety.

The stage appeared to have a pride flag before the performance started, and Beyoncé danced with two robot arms while singing the song “COZY,” according to Vulture.

Billboard predicted that Beyoncé’s months-long tour would bring in between $275 million and $428 million in ticket sales alone when tickets went on sale in February for her now-sold-out tour. That was prior to the singer’s tour expanding from 41 to 57 stops. Beyoncé’s current tour is her first solo tour since her Lemonade concerts in 2016. In January, she gave her first complete concert in four years at a private event at the Atlantis Royal Resort in Dubai. Prior to that, she accompanied her husband Jay-Z to the “On the Run” concert in 2018.

Before coming to North America in June for the second leg of her tour, the singer will go across Europe. She will perform at least 40 gigs, with her final one taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 27.
