First Durban showpiece’s lineup for Cotton Fest has been revealed

Cotton Fest, the much anticipated music and lifestyle festival, has revealed the lineup for the first event in the city a few weeks after announcing the first Durban leg.

On Sunday, July 2, the festival will take place on the outfields of Kings Park Stadium. As usual, Cotton Fest will feature live performances on two stages by accomplished artists and up-and-coming performers.

“Cottoneaters are you ready? The UCFSC Durban lineup has arrived. Pull up on the 2nd of July at Kings Park Stadium Outer Fields and catch some of SA’s finest artists who will put on a show to remember. Disclaimer: The lineup is subject to change, follow our page for further announcements,” shared the festival on its Instagram page.

Local performers such as Blxckie, Big Zulu, Asvnte, 031 Choppa, and Babes Wodumo will perform during the festival. Emtee, A-Reece, Professor, Pabi Cooper, Kabza De Small, and a number of other prominent musicians will also be performing.

In a press release issued, the festival stated that “The urban music and fashion explosion aims to showcase the diversities in various popular music genres with the aim of fusing the gaps within the different local movements.” It further added that: “As always, the entertainment-filled festival will include various other lifestyle elements to keep the crowd entertained, including The Tuckshop (Retail Fashion Store featuring local brands), the Sports Arena (Skateboard) and the Cafeteria (Food Court).”

The organizers reassured a significant deployment of security, including uniformed and undercover security, as an active deterrent for any criminal conduct and to offer a vigilant and quick alert response in the event of any incidents. This was done to calm fans who were worried about their safety. Tickets can be purchased nationally at Pick n Pay and Webtickets outlets. Phases 1 and 2 each cost R200, and Phase 3 costs R250.
