The alleged weapon which was used to murder Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane and Kiernan “AKA” Forbes has been discovered. The gun was found over the weekend in uMlazi, south of Durban, according to an unnamed source familiar with the investigation.
The 9mm pistol was positively connected to the shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of the two males, according to ballistics. Unknown male in his 20s is believed to have been detained. However, another account claims that the pistol was for rent.
On February 10 near Florida Road in Durban, shots were fired, killing Forbes and Motsoane. Forbes was shot and killed instantaneously as he was leaving Wish Restaurant by a blatantly oblivious gunman. A famous chef and businessman named Motsoane was also assassinated.
KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda pleaded with the media to refrain from placing excessive pressure on SAPS investigations when he was contacted for comment. Four guys were supposedly detained in March in relation to the murder but were later freed. The accusation against one of the men was hijacking.
According to some reports, the men’s attorney told them that there was no need for the police to detain her clients. Advocate Annelene van den Heever said: “They allowed the narrative of my clients being linked to the AKA investigation and didn’t comment at the time.” According to Van den Heever, the arrests were illegal and irregular.
