The 2023 DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards have been cancelled

The DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards, popularly referred to as the DMVCAs, have been cancelled for this year by MultiChoice and M-Net’s Mzansi Magic TV station.

More information regarding this decision has not been provided yet.The DMVCAs present prizes in a dozen categories, including Song of the Year, Favourite Actor or Actress, Favourite Radio Personality, Favourite DJ, Favourite Comedian, Favourite Rising Star, Favourite Sports Personality, Favourite TV Presenter, and others.

After a 2-year break due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the 4th DMVCAs were held in June of last year at Times Square, Sun Arena in Menlyn, Pretoria. The event honoured winners in a number of categories over a two-year period to make up for its absence in 2021. When asked why there was no 5th DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards, MultiChoice said:

“The DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards is a significant event to MultiChoice. Not only do the awards celebrate our extraordinary local talent, but they also put the fans, who are our customers, at the centre. We will advise in due course when the next edition of the DMVCAs will take place.”
