New movie “Homewrecker,” starring Letoya Makhene-Pulumo and Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa, has viewers captivated

It’s no surprise that viewers flocked to Netflix to watch the mystery drama “Homewrecker” because South Africans enjoy a good local film and are always supportive of it. An all-star cast can be found in this mystery drama which explores the murky depths of envy and betrayal.

Kenzie Miyeni, played by Letoya Makhene-Pulumo, is a troubled woman obsessed by an unquenchable desire to murder her successful coworker Tamara Oliphant, who is represented by the outstanding Mbali Mlotshwa. The movie made top 10 rankings in several countries just a few days after it was released. The creative minds of “Homewrecker” are Stephina Zwane and Salamina Mosese, through their production business Sorele Media.

Production on the movie started in 2021, when Covid limitations were still in place and several sets had to be shut down, so it has been a long time coming. Actors Nay Maps, Nolo Phiri, Tsholofelo Mashishi, Craig Morris, Tshepo Mosese, and the late Lumko Johnson are all featured in the movie. The main character of the story is Kenzie, who is driven by violent jealousy to do whatever it takes to seize control of Tamara’s life.

Some critics felt the plot was predictable and simplistic, while others gave the movie good reviews.
