DJ Sbu’s Mofaya closes a deal with Shoprite Checkers

Music producer and podcaster, Sibusiso Leope popularly known as DJ Sbu, was seen  beaming with joy after his company Mofaya finally struck a deal with Shoprite Checkers, one of the largest supermarkets in South Africa. In 2013, DJ Sbu and Siphiwe Likhuleni Shongwe co-founded MoFaya, South Africa’s first energy drink which was proudly owned by people of colour.

As time has passed by, the brand ignited in young people a sense of opportunity creation through street vending. The well-known DJ used his social media platforms to announce the energy drink’s success, which was a difficult process because it took nine years for it to happen.

“Finally after 9 years. All Praise to the Most High God. @Shopritesa thank you 🙏🏿🇿🇦,” captioned Sbu on a photo of himself using the Shoprite Checkers marquee as a backdrop.
