EPL: Trent Alexander-Arnold on Manchester City

Prior to yet another intense title match, Trent Alexander-Arnold believes that trophies mean more to Liverpool than their opponents, Manchester City.

The Reds currently sit one point ahead of Pep Guardiola’s team. On Sunday, the two teams will square off at Anfield as Liverpool attempts to immobilise City’s hopes of winning the Premier League for a record fourth time in a row.

Although it’s a difficult task, England international, Alexander-Arnold said that taking down City will make him happier than anything else.

“Looking back on this era, although they’ve won more titles than us and have probably been more successful, our trophies will mean more to us and our fanbase because of the situations at both clubs, financially. How both clubs have built their teams and the manner in which we’ve done it probably means more to our fans.”

With just two points separating Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal in this year’s run-in, it appears to be a three-horse fight. Alexander-Arnold is well aware of the late-season push that has been a hallmark of Guardiola’s team during the recent years.

“We’re excited to be involved with City and know we’re in a good position. I’m sure they’ll be motivated, as are we. It’s going to be an exciting end.”
