Music star Tyla cancels tour due to injury

South African singer Tyla took to social media on Thursday that she has to postpone and cancel her international tour performances due to an injury.

She had to reschedule her tour in Europe which included stops in Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, and London. The singer has also cancelled her North American tour, which included her Coachella debut performance.

Details about her injury were disclosed in a statement she posted to her Instagram account of which she addressed to her fans, the Tygers.

“For the past year, I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes, but the pain has only become more agonising, as has the severity of the situation,” she stated.

Tyla said that she preferred to deal with the issue privately but eventually felt the need to inform her fans. She further added that she was heartbroken by the fact that she can no longer proceed with the tour.

She said that those who purchased tour tickets in North America will receive an automatic refund, and that ticket providers in other countries would get in touch with them to discuss their alternatives.

Tyla’s song Water, which also peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, earned the Grammy Award for Best African Performance earlier this year.
