Thuli Phongolo, a media personality, made headlines earlier this month when she filed a complaint of assault against her alleged partner, DJ Maphorisa, only to later retract the charges. On Sunday in the late afternoon, Phongolo filed charges against Maphorisa at the Sandton police station. On Monday, Maphorisa appeared before the Randburg Magistrate’s Court and was given R4,000 bail.
Later, the two issued a joint statement in which they acknowledged that the “incident” did in fact take place on May 7, but they requested discretion as they went back to their places of work. As she gradually got back to work, Phongolo gave her Instagram followers a sneak peak on her stories revealing that she was once again in the recording studio working on music.
The former “Generations” actress had hinted that she was working on her own music before the incident took place . As soon as the dust settled, Phongolo showed up at Creative Harmony Studios and started working again.
On Phongolo’s Instagram stories, she can be seen in the studio while vocals can be heard being recorded, and producer Given Zulu is energizing the session. Fans are anticipating the release of whatever Phongolo is working on, and they are putting pressure on her to change the release date as a result of the teaser.
