The highly anticipated South African Cheese Festival returns to Stellenbosch under new ownership and with new dates. This outdoor culinary event will be hosted in Sandringham Estate from Friday 22, September to Monday 25, September 2023. The event will take place over the Heritage Day long weekend. This event has been revamped by its new owners and will be celebrating everything from cheese to wine, and even entertainment suitable for the whole family over four days. The SA Cheese Festival has been established as South Africa’s only cheese focused event and has been a well established tradition in the Cape wine-lands since 2002.
A fascinating experience can be expected from visitors as new owners have taken it to the next level to bring an amazing experience by organising, marketing, and presenting this lifestyle event across the country. The event is said to open officially on the evening of Friday, 22 September 2023, with a music festival. Live music will be provided by local artists while improved kids’ entertainment facilities will keep children occupied. Furthermore, the entire family will be entertained with carnival-style theme park activities.
This will officially be the 20th edition of the festival after cancellation of the the 2020 and 2021 edition following COVID. Good news is there for the festivals fans in Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal as the new owners plan to bring the Cheese Festival to Johannesburg and KwaZulu Natal as early as 2024. This will raise the value for existing partners and exhibitors and also leave a remarkable memory on food lovers and connoisseurs. Tickets are said to be available starting June, 2023 with further announcements to be made regarding prices.
